Welcome to the ACLEA Vision 2015 Blog

donitaWelcome to the ACLEA Vision 2015 Blog.  The EC adopted Vision 2015 after extensive consideration and discussion.  If you are wondering want Vision 2015 is all about, take a look at the Vision 2015 Statement.  It lays out the goals that we hope to achieve to make ACLEA and even better place for CLE professionals.

Several Special Committees have been formed to move Vision 2015 forward.  The Special Committees  are:

Volunteering is what makes ACLEA the incredible organization it is and it is what is going to make Vision 2015 a reality.  If you wish to specifically volunteer for Vision 2015 projects, respond to aclea@aclea.org with your area of interest:

  • Conference Strategy (looking at ways we can enhance the conference experience)
  • Curriculum/Content (developing a comprehensive mapping of educational needs of our members for both online and conference content)
  • Financial Planning (assuring ACLEA’s long-term interests are matched with sound financial stability and planning)
  • Online Community (discussing how our upcoming online community can look and feel to provide ongoing, between-conference education and networking)
  • Volunteer Engagement (designing a method of getting, keeping, engaging, and rewarding volunteers in ACLEA)

General ACLEA Updates from the President

Roger Curlin“The butterfly counts not months but moments, and has time enough.” – Rabindranath Tagore

Having lost several friends recently, suddenly, and way before old age, this quote frames an important concept. Ours is very hard-working profession. We give passion to our careers and sometimes disregard ourselves, loved ones, and the life around us to pour energy into our work.

I would encourage you to take a few minutes and reflect on where you are directing your energy. We often over-commit this finite resource to work. Redirecting even small amounts back into yourself, loved ones, and community causes can pay huge dividends to your health, mood, and productivity in your career.

Think about the small moments in your life and make each matter. But also realize that you have enough time to do what counts.

Similar to our lives, ACLEA is navigating for a long journey, but the path is layered with small moments. One moment is the quest for our next Management Services Company. As Donna Passons and her staff at TICLE step down at the end of August after 20 incredible years of service, ACLEA will begin its work with a new management group. I am excited about the possibilities and am confident in the committee helping steer this search (Pat Nester is chairing), the Executive Committee that surrounds me, and Donna’s laser focus on a seamless transition.

Vibrant times are ahead for our organization. We are in the strongest financial position we have ever been in. Vision 2015, ACLEA’s strategic plan, is already underway in aligning new resources and ideas. Donita Douglas is spearheading the planning on ACLEA’s 50th anniversary celebration for next year. And so much more!

Thank you all for the energy and support you provide to this wonderful organization.

I continue to be honored to serve as your President.

A Special Message from your President

Roger CurlinI am very excited to share with you ACLEA Vision 2015.  This document outlines ACLEA’s Vision Statement and Map that will serve as our organizations compass the next few years. It is a vital part of the forthcoming Strategic Plan.  The Executive Committee with the help of strategic planning facilitator, Lynn Chard, designed the Vision document.  The SIG and Committee co-chairs assisted in shaping the final product and ACLEA member input on a variety of topics were vital in its scope.

Please take a few minutes to read this pivotal document.  If you are as excited as I am about ACLEA’s future and wish to help guide our organization – I am using this opportunity to invite volunteer interest in helping fulfill our forthcoming Strategic Plan.

Respond to aclea@aclea.org with your area of interest:

Thank-you in advance for all you do as ACLEA members!

It makes me proud to see what dedicated, thoughtful, smart professionals participate in ACLEA.
